PUBG Corp, the developer of Payer Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), has reported close to $920 million (Rs 6,362 crore approx) in revenue in 2018, making an eye-popping $310 million profit (Rs 2,143 crore) in just one year.

According to an NDTV report, the majority of this profit comes from PUBG for PC, since the game was first released on PC, and the mobile version of the game is made by Tencent Games, not PUBG Corp.

The NDTV report cited the revenue figures via VG247, which spotted the numbers on one Nave Sports platform. It stated that PUBG for PC earned the developer $790 million (roughly Rs 5,463 crore) in 2019.

Revenues from the console and mobile versions of the game were similar — $60 million (roughly Rs 414 crore) and $65 million (roughly Rs 450 crore), NDTV further reported.

Since the mobile version of the game is made by Tencent, PUBG Corp is in all likelihood receiving annual licensing fees or a share of the revenue from Tencent Games.

Within the profit made by the game developers, 53 percent was earned in Asia, where the game is the most popular.
