PUBG rolled out of the new 0.12.0 beta update with an updated weapons list a new zombie mode added to a friendly spectate mode and other features.
The biggest addition and something that many PUBG players would be looking forward to is the RPG rocket launcher and a pet companion which helps you with reconnaissance. Something like what we have seen in the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The beta update is 1.8GB in size and is expected to be rolled out for all the users on the stable platform.
It was tough to decipher the list of updates that PUBG has released, but the initial lot of updates suggests that the game is set to introduce a “companion” which according to the update is an eagle which in all probability is going to help the player scout hiding spots, resources and enemies.
The companion will only be visible to you and your team-mates. Also, when swimming/crawling your companion will fly away, and will return when you stop swimming/crawling.
In terms of weapons, the Red dot now has multiple different shapes, and can be changed to green. The Holo sight reticle colour can be changed to green and the hip-fire crosshair now has more colours to choose from.
The beta update also allows players to spectate friends from the lobby and you can also send friend request to enemies while spectating them.
The Survive Till Dawn mode also receive a few updates in the beta mode.
The mode adds an RPG rocket launcher that will house a total of 6 rockets, which also has an iron sight.
There is also an explosive crossbow that’s been added where the arrows will explode on impact. At night you won’t be able to go out because of the toxic gas and the game also has a new liquid nitrogen mine which will slow down everyone caught in its blast range.
There is also a Survive Until Rescue Arrives mode where you’ll be spawned on the Erangel map at a random place and have to survive till extraction.
