Apple’s gala event in Cupertino was not only about the new iPhones, but about a lot of other things including the new Apple Watch. Dubbed the Apple Watch Series 5, it now comes with an always-on display feature that makes sure you don’t always have to raise your arm to activate the screen.
Apple has found a power-efficient way to ensure that all the details stay on the screen without eating a lot of battery. The Apple Watch Series 5 has been launched in India starting at Rs 40,900 and going up to Rs 49,900 for the cellular variant.
What is even bigger now for Apple fans is that the Apple Watch Series 3 has got a price drop and is available starting as low as Rs 20,900, which puts it directly in competition against the likes of FitBit and Garmin in this price segment.
The Apple Watch Series 5 is now available in a wider range of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, ceramic and an all-new titanium.
On the inside, it comes with an ultra-low power display driver, efficient power management integrated circuit and new ambient light sensor. Apple claims that the new Apple Watch is capable of providing battery life of up to 18 hours now.
The company is also giving customers an option to head to an Apple retail store and customise an Apple Watch according to their own style. They can combine different watch colours with different kinds of straps as per their liking.
The latest Watch OS 6 adds a lot of other features to the Apple Watch ecosystem. Features like Cycle Tracking, Activity Trends and even a Noise App have been added to the package.
The Watch now comes with an in-built compass to help with navigation as well.
