Looks like Apple CEO Tim Cook can’t wait to get the event started, and here’s a picture of the Steve Jobs Theater from the outside, probably shot with the new iPhone? Who knows!
All leaks for this year’s Apple launch event are pointing towards one thing – three iPhones will be introduced on 10 September. This could be the year that iPhones sport more than a single camera sensor at the back.
In addition to this, rumours have suggested that Apple will confine the iPhone 11 series to Face ID for biometric security, which means users will miss out on the in-display fingerprint option in this year’s iPhone series.
Now, we’re waiting for Apple to confirm the leaks and show us what the real thing is all about.
In addition to the hardware announcements, Apple is also likely to reveal more details about its TV+ premium streaming service, along with its pricing. That’s not all, Apple’s online gaming platform Arcade will also be highlighted at the keynote, where its pricing is also expected.
Lots of stuff to come in an hour from now, are you excited?
With more than a lakh as the starting price for the iPhone XS last year, how much can Apple manage to price the iPhone 11 series in India?
Our bet is, get ready to spend another lakh plus yet again. By the way, t-40 minutes for the keynote.
Most leaks seem to have confirmed that the new iPhone 11 series, at least two of them will sport three cameras at the back.
We’re eager to know more about the technology built into them and see if Apple can give Google’s Pixel series a tough fight in the imaging segment this year.
The music has started, and the party will begin in less than 10 minutes from now.
Apple CEO Tim Cook takes the stage to kickstart the keynote, which, according to Cook, will pack a lot of big announcements. First up, it’s the Apple Arcade, which will cater to over 100+ gaming titles, and be available through the App store for users.
Apple has priced the Arcade at $4.99 per month, and users get a chance to use it for free on a trial basis. It will be coming to over 150 countries from 19 September.
Next up, Apple is about to detail the shows that will be available exclusively on its premium video-streaming platform. Cook also showcases some of the trailers for the shows on Apple TV that include "The Morning Show", starring Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon.
And, guess what, Apple TV+ will be available from 1 November, and it is priced at $4.99 per month, as part of the family subscription. In India, Apple is offering the service at Rs 99 per month, after the seven day trial period gets over.
But wait, there’s more. This service competes with Netflix and when you buy an iPhone, iPad or Mac, you get 1 year subscription free.
Apple has bundled the launch of a new iPad this year. Greg Joswiak, Vice President at Apple talks about the new 10.2-inch iPad.
It runs on the iPadOS, which supports multi-tasking features, and dark mode is there too. We’ve already seen most of these at the WWDC 2019 earlier this year. Apple claims the new iPad is 2x faster than its previous generation.
This iPad also supports Pencil, and has been priced at $329 and will be on sale 1 November onwards. For Indian buyers, the new iPad series starts from Rs 29,900 and will be available from 30 September.
The products are coming at a quick pace, and Cook has now moved to talk about the new Apple Watch.
"Apple Watch saves lives". Cook plays a series of videos, including a woman who had an emergency C-section, another man who had a heart attack and third who was inspired to run, all thanks to the Apple Watch. Hmm.
The Apple Watch 5 gets a retina display and Apple claims it will last for 18 hours on a single charge.
Apple Watch 5 comes with a built-in compass, which can give you directions in different apps or just displayed on the screen.
Apple Watch 5 can be pre-ordered after the keynote, and this is what it’ll cost this year; $399 for the basic variant and $499 for the cellular model of Apple Watch 5
In addition to this, Apple will continue to sell the Series 3, but at a revised price tag of $199.
The new iPhone is called the iPhone 11. No surprises with that. Let’s see what the new variant offers, except for the new colours.
iPhone 11 gets a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, which is probably Apple’s version of 720 pixels resolution. The phone sports dual cameras at the back, both supporting wide and ultra-wide angle 12-megapixel sensors. Even on the front, you’re getting a 12-megapixel shooter.
The iPhone 11 packs the A13 bionic processor, claimed to be the fastest processor on any smartphone. Apple has priced it at $699, and now we wait for the other iPhone variants.
The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max have been officially revealed by Apple.
The iPhone 11 Pro series gets 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED display respectively. This is most likely the same screen that we’ve seen with the Galaxy Note 10 series from Samsung earlier this year. These phones will also be powered by the A13 bionic processor, but how much RAM? We’ll know soon.
Before that, iPhone users, this is what the iPhone 11 Pro will offer in terms of the battery life. In addition to this, iPhone Pro buyers get an 18W charger out of the box.
But what about the cameras? Phill explains with this diagram of the sensors and their capabilities.
Apple has packed ‘Pro’ features into this series, but how does it compare with other ‘Pro’ smartphones in the market? It’ll be an intriguing battle for sure.
And here’s the most important news of the day. iPhone 11 Pro series has been priced starting from $999, which means in India, it’s probably going to launch at over a lakh. It will be available from 20 September.
The Apple CEO is summing up everything that Apple announced at the keynote today, and guides everybody present at the Theater to get a hands-on experience of these devices.
And that’s a wrap from our end as well, stay tuned for detailed stories and analysis of Apple’s iPhone launch event.
