Maruti Suzuki has launched the update to its hatchback, the Ignis, and the refreshed model has been priced starting at Rs 4.79 lakh. The previous generation Ignis had a starting price tag of Rs 4.67 lakh.
Some of the car’s rivals in this category are the Mahindra KUV 100, Ford Freestyle and even the Tata Tiago.
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis was launched back in 2017 and the older variant was officially discontinued earlier this month. The car hasn’t received much updates in terms of styling like the new Baleno and continues to resemble the variant which was launched couple of years back.
Some of the additions which have been made to the new Maruti hatchback are reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system and a passenger side seat belt reminder which is being offered as a standard.
The Alpha and the Zeta variants will now come with roof rails as a standard addition as well.
A bit of a deal breaker for many is that the company is still offering the Smart play infotainment system model in the new Ignis and not updating it with the SmartPlay Studio system which has been updated in the new Baleno and the recently launched Wagon R.
