After a rough start in the ongoing edition of the ICC World Cup, Pakistan made an impressive comeback on Monday, 3 June by defeating hosts England by 14 runs.
Lauding the team's performance, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in a tweet said, "Congratulations to the Pakistan cricket team for a great win and for coming back into form after a poor start in the warm up matches and the first WC match."
In their opening game, the Pakistani side lost to West Indies by 7 wickets. The match that was played on 31 May saw a disastrous performance by Pakistan as the team was wiped out by the Caribbeans at 105 in 21.4 overs.
Meanwhile, they put a massive total of 348 runs against hosts England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on 3 June.
“My advice to the Pakistan team today is what I would tell my players before a match: Give your 100 percent, fight to the last ball and never let the fear of losing enter your mind, influence your strategy or play,” he said.
