After a washed out start to the series, India will play South Africa in the second T20 International of the three-match rubber in Mohali on Wednesday, 18 September.

The first T20 was abandoned due to heavy rain at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Sunday. After the toss was initially delayed due to a wet outfield, the game was abandoned at 7:50 pm local time, 50 minutes after the scheduled start of play.

After the second T20I, the teams will move to Bengaluru for the third and final game of the rubber which will be followed by three Test matches, starting 2 October.

Here’s a look at the records and numbers ahead of the second T20I between India and South Africa:

  • Four T20Is have been played at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali between 2009 and 2016. Two each have been won by the sides batting first and second.

  • India have registered victories in both the T20Is played by them at Mohali by six wickets each – against Sri Lanka on 12 December 2009 and against Australia on 27 March 2016.
  • India are yet to win a T20I against South Africa at home. The Men in Blue have previously lost to SA by seven wickets at Dharamshala on 2 October 2015 and by six wickets at Cuttack on 5 October 2015.
  • Besides India's two wins, Pakistan lost both the matches played by them at this venue – by 22 runs to New Zealand on 22 March 2016 and by 21 runs to Australia on 25 March 2016 – both in World T20.
  • The highest individual innings in T20Is at this venue – an unbeaten innings of 82 off 51 balls – belongs to India's Virat Kohli against Australia on 27 March 2016.

  • The only instance of posting a fifty and capturing three wickets by an Indian all-rounder in the same T20I was accomplished by Yuvraj Singh (3/23 + 60 not out) against Sri Lanka at Mohali on 12 December 2009.
  • James Faulkner's excellent figures of five for 27 vs Pakistan at Mohali on 25 March 2016 are his career-best in T20Is – the only five-wicket haul at this venue apart from the only instance of five wickets in a T20I by an Australian bowler.
  • Two 80-plus runs stands have been recorded at this venue – 81 (second wicket) between Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara for Sri Lanka vs India on 1 December 2009 and 80 (third) between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh for India vs Sri Lanka in the same match.
