The Indian cricket team are hosting South Africa for a month-long tour consisting of three T20 Internationals followed by three Tests.
While the T20I series ended in a 1-1 stalemate, the Test series gets underway in a week’s time.
One of the biggest changes the team will see when it steps out in whites this time is that Rohit Sharma is expected to open for the first time in Test cricket. KL Rahul’s poor run of form and the Mumbai batsman’s exploits during the World Cup have forced the selectors to try out yet another opening pair. Rohit will have Mayank Agarwal for company at the top.
Earning his debut Indian Test call for the series is youngster Shubman Gill even as Hardik Pandya and Umesh Yadav missed out.
