Former Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely, on 17 February, rejoined the party, months after he quit to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. Lovely, a former minister in the Sheila Dikshit-led government, met party chief Rahul Gandhi at his residence along with Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken.
Maken and AICC incharge of Delhi unit PC Chacko welcomed him back at a press conference.
When Lovely quit Congress, he had lashed out at Sheila Dikshit during a press conference in Mumbai saying: “Sheila is completely dissociated from the Congress campaign for MCD polls and has turned out to be a burden, while I chose to join the BJP that has been holding soldiers’ interests high.”
He also hit out at Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, alleging that he preferred "comfort" over hard work.
Former Delhi Chief Minister has told the media that she is happy on Lovely’s return.

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old who was raped in Delhi on 28 January 2018. The baby girl, who we will refer to as 'Chhutki', was allegedly raped by her 28-year-old cousin when her parents were away. She has been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but needs more medical treatment in order to heal completely. Her parents hail from a low-income group and have stopped going to work so that they can take care of the baby. You can help cover Chhutki's medical expenses and secure her future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
