An 18-year-old college student was thrashed allegedly by two men following an argument on road in northwest Delhi's Bharat Nagar, the police said on Wednesday, 23 May.
The incident took place on 18 May.
The victim, Harshit, told the police that he was returning home on his scooter around 8 pm when a woman stopped her car on Ravidas Lane and another vehicle from the opposite side came, blocking his way.
While the driver of the other vehicle reversed the car to allow Harshit to pass, and he tried making his way out, the woman in the other car said something to Harshit which led to an argument between them.
The woman's husband, Khem Singh, who was standing nearby, came and started thrashing Harshit. Singh's nephew also joined him in beating the college student, the police said.
Harshit managed to flee from there and informed his uncle who took him to a hospital.
Harshit's family alleged that the police had not levelled serious charges on the accused. However, the police said that certain sections were slapped following an initial medical examination of the victim.
A final report is awaited and if it suggests that the injuries were grave, more sections will be added, the police said.
