At least 20 people were injured after a portion of a terrace collapsed in a small village of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, late on Monday, 9 September night, when locals had gathered for a Muharram procession, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday.

The injured were taken to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

A video of the incident being circulated on social media shows several people falling in a crowded area as a part of the terrace wall suddenly collapses, leaving people startled.

In a separate incident, a boy was killed and three other children and a woman were critically injured as a roof collapsed in West Bengal's Malda district, PTI reported, quoting the police.

"The victims were watching a Muharram procession from an under-construction building. Work was on in the roof. Suddenly, a section of it collapsed, causing severe injuries to the five people beneath it. While one person died in the hospital, the remaining four are critical," an officer of Manikchak police station told PTI.
