Meghna Srivastava from Noida’s Step By Step School scored 99.8 percent in her Class 12 CBSE Board results.
Meghna scored 99 in English, 100 in History, 100 in Geography,100 in Psychology, 100 and 100 in Economics.
Srivastava is the niece of former CBI director Anil Sinha, who said that she has always been a bright student.
“She has always been a very bright and studious girl. She has brought laurels to our family and we are proud of her,” Sinha said.
Anoushka Chandra from SAJ School, Ghaziabad came second with 99.6 percent. Both Meghna and Anoushka are Humanities students. Anoushka scored 98 in English (Core) and 100 in History, Economics, Political Science and Psychology.
Seven students from across the country came third with 99.4 percent.
Chahat Bhodraj from Jaipur, Astha Bamba from Ludhiana, Haridwar’s Tanuja Kapri, Noida’s Supriya Kaushik, Ghaziabad’s Nakul Gupta and Kshitij Anand, and Meerut’s Ananya Singh came seventh with 497 marks.
This year, the overall pass percentage has improved to 83.01 percent from 82.02 percent last year.
The best performing region was Trivandrum in Kerala with a pass percentage of 97.32 percent. Chennai 's pass percentage was second best at 93.87 percent. Delhi was at the third spot with 89 percent, the officials said.
