The Central Board of Secondary Education announced the results for Class 12 board examinations on Saturday, 26 May.

Over 11 lakh students had registered for the examinations, which were marred with controversy over the paper leak issue.

Here’s how you can check your results:

  • Step 1: Click on the official website cbse.nic.in
  • Step 2: Click the link for CBSE Class 12 Results 2018
  • Step 3: Enter your roll number and date of birth
  • Step 4: Download the CBSE Class 12 Results 2018 for future reference

  • Over 11 lakh students had appeared for the examinations held in March and April
  • The Board had conducted a re-test of Class 12 economics paper on 25 April, nearly a month after it was leaked
  • Meghna Srivastava from Ghaziabad has topped the exams with 99.8%

Meghna Srivastava Tops Exams; Anoushka Chandra Comes Second

Meghna Srivastava from Noida’s Step By Step school scored 99.8 percent. Anoushka Chandra from SAJ School, Ghaziabad came second with 99.6 percent. Seven students have ranked third with 99.4 percent.

There is no secret, you just have to work hard and be consistent throughout the year. I never counted the number of hours I studied. My teachers and parents have been really helpful. They never pressurised me.

Javadekar Congratulates Students

HRD minister Prakash Javadekar today congratulated those who passed CBSE class 12 exam and also advised those who did not do well not to lose heart.

He also said the quality of government schools is improving and congratulated those for a good show.

I congratulate all those who succeeded. Those who did not succeed, I give them my best wishes because they should not lose heart. This is a temporary setback and they will put in more effort and succeed.

According to CBSE officials, government-aided schools registered a pass percentage of 84.48 per cent and government schools had a pass percentage of 84.39.

Differently Abled All-India Toppers

The topper in the differently abled students category is Vijay Ganesh from Palakkad, Kerala, securing 98.4 percent. Dehradun’s Pooja Kumari stood second with 97.8 percent, while Lavanya Jha of DPS RK Puram came third with 97.4 percent.

A total of 141 candidates in the differently abled category scored 90 percent and above. Twenty-five candidates scored 95 percent and above.

Meghna Scored 100 in History, Geography, Psychology and Economics

Meghna scored 99 in English, 100 in History, 100 in Geography,100 in Psychology, 100 and 100 in Economics.

Pass Percentage Increases by Nearly 1%

This year, the pass percentage has improved to 83.01 percent from 82.02 percent last year.

Girls Fare Better Than Boys

Girls have done better than boys by 9.32 percent. Girls' pass percentage is 88.31 compared to boys' 78.99 percent.

Post-Result CBSE Annual Counselling Starts From Today

The post-result CBSE counselling begins from Saturday, 26 May. It will go on till 9 June, and will be conducted from 8 am to 10 pm everyday.

Overall Pass Percentage is 83.01% in Three Regions

The overall pass percentage for three regions is 83.01. The top three regions are Trivandrum (97.32 percent), Chennai (93.87 percent) and Delhi (89 percent). Meghna Srivastava from Ghaziabad has topped the exams with 499 marks out of the total 500.

Here are Other Ways of Checking Your Results

The CBSE will also provide Class 12 digital marksheets through DigiLocker at https://digilocker.gov.in. This service was started in 2016.

Students can also view their results on the UMANG mobile application.

Results are also available through SMS facility of NIC.

Results to Be Announced Soon

The results for CBSE Class 12 examinations will be announced on Saturday.

“CBSE Class 12 results for Academic Session 2017-18 to be declared on 26th of May,” Education Secretary Anil Swarup had tweeted.

The Board had conducted a re-test of Class 12 economics paper on 25 April, nearly a month after it was leaked triggering widespread outrage and confusion among students across the country.
