The Delhi Police on Monday, 13 August, filed a chargesheet before a city court in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in February.

According to multiple media reports, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and deputy CM Manish Sisodia have been named in the chargesheet along with two other Aam Aadmi Party legislators.

Kejriwal and Sisodia were charged with planning the conspiracy to assault Prakash, Hindustan Times reported.

AAP MLAs Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan have been charged with assault over the 19 February incident, the English daily report added.

Prakash, Delhi government’s top civil servant, had alleged manhandling by a few AAP MLAs at the CM's residence “without any provocation”.

In the complaint, he wrote that he was made to sit between AAP MLA Amanatullah and another MLA. “The CM directed me to answer the MLAs and explain the reason for delay in release of TV campaign,” he recalled.

He alleged that he was abused for “not doing enough for publicity of the government,” when suddenly he was assaulted without any provocation with “several blows” on his head and temple.
