Hi,
Congratulations on securing a great score in class 12 boards.
If you’re looking at pursuing B.Tech, you should have cleared the JEE main exam or any college/state level or university level engineering entrance exam basis which admission will be granted to you. You should opt for a B.Tech degree if you manage to get admission in a good B.Tech private college.
On the other hand, if you wish to go for an affordable and cost effective degree, you can opt for a B.Sc from DU and then do a Master’s level course basis your specialisation interest.
B.Sc would be a three-year course and B.Tech a four-year course.
Looking at placements, both the degrees will provide similar initial packages post completion of the course. Although B.Tech is a superior degree to B.Sc in Computer Science, the value of DU is superior to that of a private engineering college (barring the top private engineering colleges as per the NIRF Rankings 2018). We suggest you choose according to your future goals and after careful assessment of the course structures of both B.Tech and B.Sc.
Hi Nishant,
You will require both transfer and character certificates for admission in Delhi University. You may check the complete list of documents required for DU Admissions here.
Hi Sunyna,
For B.Sc course in DU, selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in the aggregate of the three science subjects you have opted for. For B.Sc in Biological Science, the subjects should be Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology with at least 55% in the aggregate of three subjects and passing in one mandatory language subject, English with 50%.
However, for B.Sc in Biomedical Sciences, in addition to the above mentioned criteria, if you opted for Maths in class 12 and were successful in achieving over 60% in the subject, you will be given an advantage of 3% over and above your aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biochemistry.
Dear Neeraj,
Before finalising a career path for your daughter, it is very important that you understand her future aspirations and interest areas.
Given the combination of subjects she has studied, the opportunities and course options are plenty. She can pursue a B.A specialisation in any of the subjects she has studied, and prepare for Civil Services alongside; or she can choose from the niche courses like Event Management, Fashion Design, Hotel Management, Journalism and Mass Communication. There are several good private colleges that she can seek admission in based on her interest areas.
