My daily morning alarm is that of the sound of bird chirping and the cool breeze are till today.

Yes, today, I woke up to the sound of axe striking my favourite tree. A man had climbed the tree to chop off the branches.

I rushed to ask my mother why the horrible man is chopping off the tree. She told me, “ There is a marriage in their house. They need to redo their house and they need the space.”

Please, don’t cut trees.(Photo Courtesy: Sainath Jatla)

I was appalled by the reason. For a wedding how can one chop off a 20 to 25 year old tree.

I urge people to stop doing this. We need to grow more trees and protect them, not cut them off.

This Vriksha Bandhan, please pledge to save trees. The trees will save us tomorrow.
