Neha Dhupia, Soha Ali Khan Express Solidarity With Tanushree Dutta

Neha Dhupia, Soha Ali Khan have spoken up in solidarity with Tanushree Dutta amidst the Nana Patekar controversy.

Joining celebrities such as Kangana Ranaut, Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra, actors Neha Dhupia, Soha Ali Khan and Sophie Choudry put forth their support for actor Tanushree Dutta, who has filed charges against actor Nana Patekar for allegedly sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008.

According to DNA, the trio was in Mumbai for the launch of the third season of Dhupia’s podcast, No Filter Neha. Commenting on the debate these allegations have sparked, Dhupia was adamant that it’s time we stop questioning women who dare to speak out against sexual harassment and “believe them”. Addressing questions as to why Dutta decided to bring up the allegations 10 years after the incident in question occurred, Dhupia said that “she tried speaking up then” but was largely ignored.

“Let’s question the men in the line of fire.”

Soha Ali Khan expressed a similar sentiment, saying “women need to be supported and encouraged” when they choose to speak out.

Sophie Choudry reminded the audience of actress Mamta Kulkarni, who was alienated at the height of her career for making similar claims.

In response to the allegations, actor Nana Patekar and director Vivek Agnihotri have both filed legal notices against Dutta. Patekar continues to deny all claims, stating, “I have said it 10 years ago. What was true then is true today and will remain true tomorrow,” at a press conference in Mumbai earlier today.
