Popular Arab-American YouTuber Adam Saleh claimed that he and his friend were removed from a Delta Air Lines flight from London’s Heathrow Airport on Wednesday. They were asked to leave by the captain after he was heard speaking to his mother on phone in Arabic and then carrying on the conversation with his friend in Arabic.
Saleh, in a Twitter video, said that they were being “kicked-out” because they “spoke a different language” which made the other passengers “uncomfortable”.
“You guys are racist,” Saleh can be heard saying.
Saleh, who has over 2 million YouTube subscribers, was returning home to New York after completing his world tour.
Delta Air Lines has been slammed earlier as well for not allowing a black woman doctor to treat a man who suffered a fatal attack on a flight.
The incident was met with much rage on social media.
Adam Saleh’s “Provocative Behaviour”
Delta Air Lines later released a statement saying that Saleh, known for prank videos on his YouTube channel, sought to disrupt the flight with his “provocative behaviour”.
Upon landing, the crew was debriefed and multiple passenger statements collected,” Delta said. “Based on the information collected to date, it appears the customers who were removed sought to disrupt the cabin with provocative behaviour, including shouting. This type of conduct is not welcome on any Delta flight.
