Pakistan’s new Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa assumed office on Tuesday and said that the situation on the Line of Control will improve soon, as reported by The Nation.
General Bajwa spoke to reporters unofficially after he took over from General Raheel Sharif as Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
Bajwa called on Pakistani media to lend their support in keeping the morale of the troops up, adding that he had a heavy responsibility on his own shoulders.
Asked to comment on the statement of former Indian army chief General Bikram Singh in which he praised Bajwa, the army chief thanked him for his appreciation.
