Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali has reportedly said that some political parties in Pakistan are backing terrorists to further their party interests.
According to Jamali, institution of justice is being targeted by terrorists and the lawyers and judges are being constantly threatened.
Efforts are being made to create an impression of confrontation among the state institutions. I urge the state institutions to work within their constitutional limits. In view of the changing situation the institutions have to work jointly.Anwar Zaheer Jamali
Jamali was addressing the opening ceremony of the Judicial Year 2016-17 at Supreme Court premises in Islamabad on Monday.
While addressing the opening ceremony of the Judicial Year 2016-17 at Supreme Court premises in Islamabad Jamali said, “The court has taken suo moto notice of the incidents of terrorism. It is necessary for the good governance that the institutions not to cross their constitutional jurisdiction.”
Terrorists want to spread terror by attacking Pakistan’s courts. Their purpose is also to weaken Pakistan’s judicial system.
