On his one-day visit to West Bengal, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed jute mill workers and met home buyers in Hooghly on Saturday in a bid to rejuvenate his party in the state.
Rahul is also likely to pay homage at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Hooghly, after which he would undertake a padayatra from there to Netaji Indoor stadium where he would address party workers.

In another gathering that is expected later in the day, Gandhi will highlight the condition of farmers in the state and apart from partymen, farmers will also participate in his padayatra.
The Congress is going through a rough patch as a number of party MLAs and leaders have switched loyalty to rival Trinamool Congress in the last few years.
