Six persons were injured when a leopard attacked them in Belpahari area of West Midnapore district on Friday.
District Forest officer Dharamadas Rai said a farmer was attacked by the animal in the morning when he went to his field at Mechua village of West Bengal.
The wounded man was later spotted by others and carried to safety. The animal then attacked curious onlookers who had gathered in the area and injured five others, including a teenaged boy, he said adding the injured were taken to Jhargram hospital.
