Biggest Film of Our Career: Varun, Alia, Sonakshi on ‘Kalank’

Ahead of the film’s release, the stars of Karan Johar’s upcoming production Kalank got candid about their characters and what went into the making of the period film. The trailer promises extravagant sets and costumes and elaborate song and dance sequences.

Varun Dhawan revealed a glimpse into his character Zafar and Aditya Roy Kapur was all praises for the hard work he has put in. The leading ladies Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha expressed their gratitude for having the opportunity to share the set with Madhuri Dixit. They cast also spoke about the idea of ‘eternal love’, one of the central themes of film.

Varun also offered a shout out to director Abhishek Varman, who made his directorial debut with 2 States, as well as the brains behind the film’s music – Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Kalank is a love story set in the 1940s, in pre-Independence India. The film is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta. It features an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Madhuri Dixit. Kalank releases on 17 April.
