UK’s Exhibition Showcases Japanese Artefacts From the 16 Century

At the London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, there is a large assemblage of artefacts that belong primarily to the period from the late 16th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The exhibit includes theatre masks, stoneware and intricate woodblock prints. Originally opened in 1986, the Toshiba Gallery of Japanese Art was the UK’s first major gallery of Japanese art. It’s now re-opening following refurbishment, boasting over 30 new additions bringing the gallery right up-to-date with contemporary Japan.
