Two Indian nationals have been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan while a Pakistan High Commission employee was also briefly detained for espionage and has been asked to leave India.
The two Indians, identified as Maulana Ramzan and Subhash Jangir, both residents of Rajasthan, have been remanded in 12 days’ police custody by a Delhi court.
Mehmood Akhtar, an official in the Pakistan High Commission, was briefly detained and let off because of diplomatic immunity, a police officer said. Akhtar has been declared a persona non grata and asked to leave the country in 48 hours.
