On 5 August, the trailer for upcoming Bollywood romance film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas was launched in Mumbai. The film marks the debut of newcomers Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba and is helmed by veteran Bollywood actor Sunny Deol.

While the trailer launch was attended by Karan Deol, Sahher Bambba and Dharmendra, Sunny Deol was missing. But he was missing with a reason. Dharmendra took the opportunity to justify Sunny Deol’s absence at the event.

“I want to tell you about one of his qualities. My son, Sunny. Today was a big day for him. But he chose to sacrifice this and go visit the mothers and children who are crying and suffering in Punjab. This is the mark of a good person. He came to me and said, ‘Dad, can you please handle this?’ So I told him that ‘please go, I will handle everything.’”

Sunny Deol is currently in Gurdaspur. He is visiting the families of those affected by the Batala factory blast. But while his absence shadowed heavily over his son’s trailer launch, Dharmendra’s witty remarks and humour made up for the same.

When asked about what is the one habit he would not want his grandson Karan to adopt, Dharmendra said, “Bas daru na peeye. Aur bhi bahut si hain, sab samajhte hain saare. Bas itna samajh jaye ki dada ki kaun si cheez nahi leni hai (He should not drink. They all understand which other habits they should not adopt from me).”

The actors also revealed that the film was shot in difficult terrains and sub-zero temperatures. Karan Deol also admitted that the film was an emotional one for him and he often broke down while shooting. He hopes to repay his parents now that he has finally entered the industry.
