Trinamool Congress MP and the party's youth wing president Abhishek Banerjee's health condition has improved, a day after he met with an accident on NH-2 near Singur, while returning to Kolkata from Murshidabad.

His condition is much better. He’s completely out of danger. The CT scan report was normal. An MRI has also been conducted and we are waiting for the report. We plan to shift him to a normal cabin in a day or two

Banerjee had reportedly suffered serious injuries after his accident.

Banerjee, who’s also Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, was rushed to Belle Vue clinic in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, Mamata put out a series of tweets thanking all those who expressed their 'get-well-soon’ wishes for her nephew.

It is learnt that Banerjee’s white Scorpio hit a truck that was being towed away, while he was on his way to Murshidabad in North Bengal. The collision left the bonnet of his car in a mangled state.
