A cinematographer managed to capture a once-in-a-lifetime volcano eruption in super-high definition.
This stunning footage shows a volcanic eruption like you’ve never seen it before. It looks more like something from the movies. But filmmaker Martin Heck, 23, says he stumbled across the eruption by accident.
Martin, from Germany, who filmed this video in Chile’s Patagonia, made a time lapse video of the stunning countryside, filming about 20 miles from Mount Calbuco. Although he knew the volcano was active, it hadn’t erupted for more than 42 years - and an eruption wasn’t predicted.
