When you think of Diwali, what’s the first image that pops up in your mind? Family, friends, diyas and mithai? It might sound clichéd but that’s what makes Diwali so much fun. But have you noticed how the way we celebrate Diwali is changing? We’re not talking about how in addition to sweets, we also gift chocolates now or the fact that we’re more environmentally aware – we’re all for this sort of change. The change we’re talking about is more subtle, and most of us don’t even realize it. We’re spending our Diwali in the virtual world, sharing posts instead of happy moments with our family and handing out ‘likes’ instead of mithai. How did we become so detached from the real world? Our phones are supposed to bring people closer, not push them away.

Watch this video to find out if you too have forgotten the secret to having a happy Diwali.

This Diwali, let’s say #HelloDiwali the Motorola way by switching off from the virtual world and celebrating the real one around us. Catch up with old friends, spend time with your family, eat tons of mithai and use your phone to capture your real-world Diwali, don’t use it to escape from it.
