No celebration is complete without a touch of sweetness. So this Diwali, double up your celebration by making sweets at home with this quick and easy Besan Ladoo recipe.

Ingredients

*4 cups coarse gram flour (jada besan)

*1 cup ghee

*12-15 cashewnuts, broken

*12-15 almonds

*1 teaspoon green cardamom powder

*2 cups powdered sugar

The Recipe

* Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add gram flour, mix, and roast for 15-20 minutes or till fragrant and golden brown, stirring continuously. Transfer to a plate and bring down to room temperature.

* Coarsely crush cashew nuts with mortar and pestle, and transfer to a bowl.

*Slice the almonds.

*Add cardamom powder, crushed cashew nuts and sliced almonds to roasted gram flour. Sieve powdered sugar in it and mix well.

*Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into balls.

*Serve or store in an air-tight container.
