Actor/comedian Sunil Grover will next be seen in one of the biggest projects of his career, alongside Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. Sunil plays the role of Salman’s best friend in the film.

“I have grown up watching his films. So when the opportunity came my way, I was a little nervous about it because he is a superstar and I thought how will I manage to match up with him,”
Sunil Grover on working with Salman Khan

Salman Khan called this movie Bharat one of his biggest films. Is this just a statement for promotions or what do you think makes this movie his biggest film?

The kind of story this is, the way it has been told and the way it is being said, the production value this film has.
His presence in the film makes the film big but this film has a few elements, few shades that Salman sir’s fans have not seen him in.

What is it that made you feel intimidated by Salman Khan and how did you overcome it?

His aura. I have always been his fan. I have grown up on his films. In fact, I called up a few actors who have worked with him and asked them how he works and what is his style of working. Everybody said I don’t need to worry, he will give you enough space to work and exactly, he made me comfortable. He would play pranks on me.

What would you prefer? A good film or a good TV show?

Wherever I get the opportunity to work... wherever I feel I will enjoy and I have something new for the people to see and good people on the project.

Bharat is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It is jointly produced by Salman Khan’s sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri and her husband Atul Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nikhil Namit and Salman Khan under the Reel Life Productions, Salman Khan Films and T-Series banners. The movie releases this EID on 5 June.
