Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi’s Kisan Yatra moved from Bulandshahr to reach Mathura in western Uttar Pradesh. In between, Rahul stopped by in Aligarh, where he also held a road show.
The Quint spoke to students of the Aligarh Muslim University about their expectations from the government. While some stressed the need to address farmer suicides, others sought to underscore matters pertaining to reservation, primary education, health infrastructure and environment conservation. Some even questioned the Congress’s sudden interest in farmers.
Having covered major parts of Eastern UP and Bundelkhand, Rahul Gandhi’s Kisan Yatra has now entered its last leg. With the Congress stepping up it’s electoral campaign, UP 2017 promises to be a hotly contested election.
