One of Richa Chadha’s first ever audition was for Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D where she auditioned for Chandramukhi (Kalki’s character) and today she is back with yet another modern take on Devdas - Daas Dev. The actor who plays the role of Paro in this modern take of Devdas, says her character is unlike any that has been portrayed on-screen before.
Daas Dev is an upcoming romantic political thriller directed by Sudhir Mishra, starring Rahul Bhat as Dev Pratap Chauhan, Richa Chadda as Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni, and Saurabh Shukla, Vineet Kumar Singh, Dalip Tahil, Anil George, Deepraj Rana, Saurabh Tyagi with Anurag Kashyap in a guest appearance. Daas Dev is produced by Sanjeev Kumar and Saptarishi Cinevision. The film is scheduled for release on 20 April 2018.
Richa Chadha’s career graph has been quite impressive, from Gangs of Wasseypur to Masaan but the actress in her previous interviews has spoken about how she gets stereotyped and is always offered serious and ‘arty’ kind of roles. But looks like after the light-hearted fun film Fukrey things have changed.
Richa while speaking to The Quint said how progressive her new film Daas Dev is and it’s nothing like other remakes or adaptations of Devdas. The actress also opens up about the tweet showing her middle finger after Masaan won two awards at Cannes Film Festival. She tells us exactly who it was meant for.
The actress even had some very interesting things to say about her favourite female and male actors and the ones she really appreciates. To know who she is talking about, watch the video.
And if you are wondering if you will ever see Richa Chadha in a complete masala, leave-your-brains-at-home kinda film, the good news is that she is open to such films and has no qualms about experimenting. I hope the filmmakers are taking a note of this revelation.
