Director Sujoy Ghosh is well known for making excellent thrillers. With films like ‘Badla’ and ‘Kahaani’ making his crown heavy, it isn’t wrong to expect brilliance when he comes out with his Netflix horror show, Typewriter.

The five episode season revolved around a bunch of kids living in Goa, who are on a ghost-hunt. They find themselves attracted to a creepy looking mansion called Bardez Villa. A family has moved here recently, and the mother used to live there as a child with her mother and grandfather. Now the entire house knows of the horrors of this house, the murders, the ghost stories and that’s what makes up the basis of this story.

There are many reasons to watch this show. It is brilliantly shot and each scene transports you into the eerie streets of a small Goan town. The actors do an excellent job as well. Palomi Ghosh and the bunch of children excel at their parts. Actor Purab Kohli displays decent acting skills that add just the right amount of warmth to the screen.

While the show does become predictable, and it isn’t really the groundbreaking work you would expect from the director, it is still a great one-time watch.
