We always watch these crazy workout videos of Bollywood celebrities on social media. It does not matter if it’s a Sunday or late night Wednesday - they are ALWAYS working out. And their fitness levels have inspired us. While some go for pilates, some prefer yoga and some are busy lifting weights. Whatever it is, everyone is trying to look their best on screen.
Like the experts always say, 30% of staying fit is workouts and 70% is what you eat. So what do these people eat? Daal chawal? Roti sabzi? Or do they just live on salads? The Quint went around to find out more about the eating habits of celebrities.
Stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh have personal chefs who cook for them but the difference between these chefs and our home cook is that these chefs are also their nutritionists. They make sure they cook according to the star’s physical requirement and every single food item is measured in a weighing scale. So, calorie count is very important.
Stars such as Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandez, who do not have personal chefs, have tiffins coming in for them. Tiffins that are tailor-made for them according to their nutrition requirements. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner - everything is delivered at their residence or whichever location they are shooting.
They do binge eat and have a sweet tooth but for that their chefs and meal services provide them with sweets like avocado mousse, dark chocolate pudding, cheese cake with no cheese in it. They even have healthier versions of dal chawal. Replacing rice with cauliflower rice and dal with pumpkin curry, with the same dal ka tadka. However much they would love to eat ghar ka khana they are not allowed to.
These chefs charge nothing less than Rs 10,000 per day, which comes to Rs 3 lakhs per month for their exclusive services. Don’t even try to guess the grocery bill (which is five times than a middle class family’s bill) . The customised meal services cost anywhere between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh per month depending on how many meals you are opting for.
