3. I Am Very Lucky to Get a Film Like ‘Badhaai Ho’: Neena Gupta

Badhaai Ho was like a rebirth for actor Neena Gupta. Having been under the radar for many years, in spite of having done some stellar work on television the actor had a great 2018 with movies like Mulk, Veere Di Wedding and Badhaai Ho.

She will now be seen in a short film called Adi Sonal as part of an anthology of six short films called Shuruaat ki Raat. The medium is of no concern to her and it’s the story that is primary. She said, “I don’t care about formats. If the story is nice, if I like my character then I go for it. Whether it’s theatre, TV, film whatever. When Leena came to me with the story, I really like it. Basically, I liked the subtlety with which the film has been made. It is a very interesting film and you want to know where she is going, as an audience what is she saying and what is she trying to say.”

4. Modi Cabinet: Now That the Team is Ready, What is the Agenda?

Amit Shah was awarded the Home Ministry contrary to the widespread belief that he will handle Finance Ministry.

Nirmala Sitharaman as Finance Minister was also surprising. Rajnath Singh has been given charge of Defence Ministry. Former Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar was awarded Ministry of External Affairs. Nitin

Gadkari has been given charge of Road Transport as well as MSME ministry. This can be seen as an effort to increase BJP’s vote base.

Apart from this, a hundred-day agenda was also adopted in the first Cabinet meeting. The structure of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has also been made clear and it will involve PM Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah as well as S Jaishankar. Meanwhile, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) will include Sitharaman. Hence, a compact team will be working on implementation of PM Modi’s agenda.
