Army Confirms PoK Surgical Ops
Indian Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh today confirmed the Army’s policy of surgical strikes across the LoC against terrorists and their camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The DGMO informed media that the Army had carried out surgical strikes across the LoC on the night of 28th-29th September.
1st Strike Was Reported by The Quint
On 21st September, The Quint had reported on the first such operation by the Indian Army’s Special Forces.

How Army Spl Forces Carried Out Surgical Strikes
Seven terror launch pads were targeted across the LoC by special forces of the Indian Army during the ‘surgical strike’ overnight in which heliborne and ground forces were used, defence sources said on Thursday.
The sources said the operation began around mid-night and ended at around 4:30am this morning.
The terror launch pads targeted were in the range of 2 to 3 km from the Line of Control (LoC) and were under surveillance for over one week, the sources said.
Denial and Ridicule: How Pak Media Reacted to the Surgical Strikes
Pakistan on Thursday sought to play down the incident, denying that any such strikes had taken place. Geo News journalist Hamid Mir claimed that there were retaliation from Pakistan’s side, in a way, telling the world about the action along the LoC. Some Pakistani journalists also reiterated Pakistani army and politicians’ denial of the surgical strikes. #NoSurgicalStrike was also trending in Pakistan.

Surgical strikes can include either or a combination of air raids, para dropping troops or ground operations. All three forces of the Indian Army have special op teams trained to carry out surgical strikes.
