So, a panchayat in Uttar Pradesh has finally figured out how to deal with the issue of rape. Their brilliant punishment for three men accused of gangraping a 15-year-old girl is… 5 slaps each.
Yeah. I think that’s totally equal to the amount of pain and trauma that the girl endured. Don’t you?
After all, what’s more painful than a red cheek and a bruised ego to a man?
I say, let’s extend this to ALL crimes.
Got drunk, drove and killed somebody? 3 slaps.
Child trafficking? 5 slaps.
Ajmal Kasab? 10 slaps? Masood Azhar and Hafeez Sayeed – 20 slaps each?
And these chhotte motte crimes? Like kidnap, molestation, bribes – areh, warning rey. Naughty, naughty. Dobara mat karna. Kyun?
Anti-men, do I hear? Areh, na na.
Women get punished anyway, no? For being out too late, dressing all wrong, hanging out with men, working, existing. That’s probably why the gangrape happened.
Now we just need to figure out how many slaps the UP panchayat should get. Maybe we should let the women who suffer them decide that.
