While Nick Jonas may have a beach-side surprise birthday party planned for his lady, we revisit the milestone moments in Priyanka Chopra’s career so far.
From winning the Miss World Pageant in the year 2000 to making her Bollywood debut in The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2002), Priyanka has always come across as bold and confident. Her negative role in Aitraaz (2004) grabbed eyeballs and after that there was no stopping her. Four years later, when she played the role of a supermodel in Fashion, she had made it to the top. She eventually won a National Award for the same. By 2011, Priyanka Chopra entered the Rs 100 crore club with Don 2.
Interestingly, Priyanka became the first Indian actor to appear in school textbooks, courtesy her army background. The actor grew up in Bareilly, Lucknow, Mumbai in India and Newton, Massachusetts and Iowa in the USA. And her story of constantly moving base and wide exposure is now part of the Class 5 Environmental Studies textbook in the first chapter titled Roving Families, Shifting Homes.
In year 2014, PeeCee made her music debut with her first single In My City, that sold more than 130,000 copies in the first week itself. And then she bagged the lead role for an American TV show, Quantico in 2015. Quantico had three seasons and was produced by ABC. Followed by her first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the same year.
Our lady even graced the cover of Time magazine topping the list of 100 Most Influential People. The year 2016 was particularly a great one for Chopra as she was presented the Padma Shri by President Pranab Mukherjee and later made her Oscar debut to present the Best Film Editing award to Margaret Sixel for Mad Max Fury. She even appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show.
Chopra’s Hollywood debut in Baywatch (2017) made quite a buzz worldwide. In the same year she became the first South-Asian Actor to receive a People’s Choice Award for her role in Quantico. PeeCee slayed at the MET GALA with Nick Jonas in a Ralph Lauren trench coat that certainly turned heads.
Earlier this year Priyanka was among the only Bollywood celebrities to attend Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding. Well this is just the beginning to Priyanka Chopra’s already established career. On her birthday, we wish our darling, PeeCee many more such milestones ahead!
