After its global debut on Wednesday, the OnePlus 6 has now made its way to the Indian market. Priced at Rs 34,999 for the 64GB variant and Rs 39,999 for the 128GB variant, the phone will be available from 21 May onwards on Amazon. The phone borrows its design elements from the iPhone X, the notch being the prominent showstopper.
This is the first OnePlus phone to get a glass body design and also the first to offer some sort of resistance to water splashes. It doesn’t carry any sort of IP rating, which means you have to be wary of the phone’s ability to withstand mishaps. The phone is also one of the first in the country to come with a Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM on the two models.
As you might have read in our first impressions of the phone, OnePlus is looking to change the dynamics of its products, which have been well received up until the OnePlus 5T.
The 6.2-inch 19:9 ratio AMOLED screen carries a resolution of 2280x1080 pixels which offers sharp colours and crisp contrast. The glossy finish at the back doesn’t impress, but it does offer a premium touch that’s been missing on the OnePlus phones till now.
The dual rear cameras carry the same optics 16 and 20 megapixel as on the OnePlus 5T. But a change of sensor means that you can shoot slow-motion videos with the OnePlus 6, something you only get with the high-end flagship phones.
In addition to the regular OnePlus variants, Indian buyers get a chance to buy the special edition Marvel version of the OnePlus 6 that comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. This is similar to what we saw with the Star Wars variant of the OnePlus 5 in 2017.
