These hot and bothered ponies have been treated to a pamper day - including face masks and a dip in the hot tub at this UK 'horse spa'.
Pampered ponies, Albert and Ernie, were ready to put their best hooves forward following the session which was set up by their owner, Emma Massingale and arranged in the back garden of her Devon home.
The 35-year-old professional horse trainer decided to treat the duo after the recent heatwave left them feeling hot and bothered.
The ponies enjoyed a mud mask and a clay mask, complete with cooling cucumbers for the eyes, as well as shampooing, curling and blow dry for their manes.
They also had their hooves painted with special animal friendly clear nail varnish and enjoyed a hot stone massage followed by a refreshing dip in the hot tub.
Albert and Ernie clearly enjoyed the rest and relaxation and remarkably can be seen standing and lying perfectly still during their treatments in this funny footage shot by Emma.
Emma, from Holsworthy, North Devon, said: "The weather has been so hot for them recently and I haven't been able to do their normal training so I thought, what can I do with them that they will enjoy. That's when I came up with the idea of the spa.
I gave Ernie a clay mask and Albert a mud mask, horses love rolling around in mud so it was just an extension of that really. Although I did have to cut the cucumbers length ways though so they were big enough for their eyes. A few people have asked me how you get a horse into a hot tub but I just asked Ernie to jump in and he did. The only problem was that he enjoyed it so much, he wouldn’t get out. I had to just get in there with him in the end.Emma
