A video featuring a dog driving car on the streets of Meghalaya went viral on social media. While this has enraged a few people concerning public safety, others seem to admire the unusual visuals.
Toby, a three-year-old Labrador, loves to drive cars.
All his master Ram Bilhas Radha, 53, has to do is to utter one word: 'Drive,' And Toby jumps to the driver's seat and takes the wheel.
Toby can steer the car, while Ram handles the clutch, brake, gears and accelerator.
Ram says Toby can manage the car on his own on a straight road at a speed of 15 to 20 kms per hour.
"But he cannot make turns as he cannot grip the wheel with his paws," says Ram.
Toby is very bright and helps his master in shopping – carrying groceries – and other chores as well.
He is a local celebrity in Shillong, Meghalaya, and well-known for his driving skills. But not everyone is supportive of his interest in driving.
Ram, who works as a head constable with Shillong police, says he has been fined for letting the dog drive.
