Scatological humour is not new to Bollywood, but a film with toilet in the main lead definitely is. Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, therefore, deserves full marks for good intentions. Doffing its hat to the government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, with special focus on our Prime Minister on building toilets, it attempts to weave in an entertaining love story with a pulsating social conscious.
Welcome to Mandgaon, a small village near Mathura that becomes the epicentre of a fight for a sauchalay. The marriage has three principal participants – Pati (Akshay Kumar), patni (Bhumi Pednekar) and woh aka ‘toilet’ .

2. I Stand by My Book: Author of Book on Ramdev After Restraint Order
A Delhi court has issued an interim injunction on the publication on a book written by Priyanka Pathak-Narain on Baba Ramdev.
According to a statement issued by the publishing house Juggernaut Books, the Kakardooma District Court restrained the publishers from 'publication and sale of Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev'.
Speaking to The Quint, author Priyanka Pathak-Narain said that she will stand by her book.
3. Venkaiah Naidu Takes Oath as 13th Vice President of India
M Venkaiah Naidu took oath as India’s 13th Vice President on 11 August after defeating former West Bengal Governor and Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the Opposition candidate, in the vice presidential polls held on 5 August.
Naidu, a two-time Union minister and four-time Rajya Sabha member, has held portfolios like Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development, and last as Information and Broadcasting Minister.
He succeeds Hamid Ansari, who finished his decade-long tenure as Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman, on Thursday.

4. Retracing the Route the Gurugram Stalking Victim Took That Night
Days after DJ Varnika Kundu was reportedly stalked by BJP chief Subhash Barala’s son, Vikas in Chandigarh, a new incident – this time in Gurugram – has come to light.
A woman, who was returning home to Rajeev Chowk from her office late on 7 August on her scooter, was stalked by two men in a car for around four kilometres.
In a complaint filed at Gurugram’s Sector 14 police station, the woman, who works in an MNC, said the men tried to obstruct her path before she managed to lose them near Atul Katarya Chowk. The woman refused to speak to the media and her parents said she was extremely traumatised.
