Kilian Bron took mountain biking to new heights by cycling on a dangerously steep and rocky terrain no bike has ventured on before.

For mountain biker Kilian Bron, the adrenaline rush of navigating around narrow mountain paths wasn’t enough to quench his thirst for adventure.

Dissatisfied with traditional, well-trodden tracks in the La Clusaz region of the French Alps, Bron went in search of a path that could satiate his proclivity for biking on treacherous terrain, by strapping his bike to his back and rock-climbing his way up the mountain side.

The unique hybrid sport sees the 26-year-old athlete climb hundreds of feet above the ground with his bike dangling precariously behind him as he scales his way across the rocks.

Though it takes him ‘three times as long’ to climb with his bike, Bron’s hard work certainly pays off, as he’s treated to some stunning views of the Alps mountain range, where no cyclist has pedalled before.

Self-proclaimed ‘sporting addict’, Bron claims that he likes to find original ideas in sports.

After mountain biking on snow, and trying to combine biking with paragliding, I knew it was time for another crazy project. It takes three times as long to climb with a bike on my back, but it’s an amazing feeling when you get to the top and pedal around.

He claims that the most important thing is to stay focused when you’re tired from climbing as there is no room for crashing.

I’m always looking for new and incredible sports to cycle on, and rock-climbing is the perfect way to do this. I’m lucky to be surrounded by such a variety of scenery, so I can’t stay quiet for more than a day.
