Addressing a press conference after her release on Thursday on completion of bail formalities, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur said it took her nine years to win the battle against what she described as “Congress' conspiracy”. Thakur is one of the key accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case and was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Tuesday.
Thakur said the term “saffron terror” and the allegations against her were part of a conspiracy hatched by the erstwhile Congress government. She also alleged that torture by the ATS had ruined her health.
When ATS Mumbai picked me up on 10 October 2008 from Surat and took me to Mumbai, I was physically fit. But the torture I underwent has rendered me dependent upon others.Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur
Thakur also alleged that Mumbai ATS illegally detained her for 13 days before seeking custody.
