Speaking to The Quint, former students of Gurugram’s Ryan International School made several damaging claims against the elite institution’s management on Sunday.

Protesting the mysterious death of a 7-year-old boy on campus, an alumnus claimed that most of the CCTV cameras installed within its premises had stopped working.

Other ex-students also claimed that bus drivers and conductors often gamble within the campus. The school’s ground floor washroom, they asserted, had no windows and can be accessed easily by intruders.

The former students also complained against a nearby liquor shop, that the protesters later set on fire, attracting a heavy police lathicharge. Some mediapersons and a large section of protesters were injured in the ensuing scuffle.

From anxious parents to ‘concerned locals’, the protesters questioned ongoing investigations in which one of the school’s bus conductors has been arrested by Haryana Police.

Parents believe the bus conductor is being used as a scapegoat, and is not the real murderer of Pradyumn Thakur.
