Kickstarting his high-octane campaign for the second phase of Gujarat Assembly elections, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in Patan, Gujarat on Saturday, 9 December.
Addressing a gathering in Patan's Harij, Rahul Gandhi countered Modi's rhetoric, saying that the BJP government has only worked for the benefit of 5-10 big industrialists.
They (the BJP) have everything — the central government, UP government, Maharashtra government, IB... everything... Congress party has nothing, but the truth of Gujarat.Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President
Talking about PM Modi’s speeches, he commented that they have lost focus as he cannot stick to a particular agenda for the elections.
The Prime Minister is only left with one thing. Yesterday, 70% of his speech was about himself. This election is not about Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi or Solanki, but about the future of the people of Gujarat.Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President
He went on to claim that the Prime Minister’s policies have benefitted 10 of the richest industrialists in the country at the cost of the poor farmers.
The amount of money Congress spent on MNREGA for the entire nation is what BJP spent on one factory of Tata Nano. Yet the Nano car on the streets is nowhere to be seen. It’s pure magic how your Rs 33,000 crore, your electricity your water disappeared for 5-10 industrialists.Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President
Gandhi said that the BJP government is trying to delay the Parliament’s winter session till after Gujarat elections because PM Modi is scared about facing the music for signing the Rafale deal and Jay Shah’s rapid growth.
Every year in November, Parliament session takes place. But this year, due to Gujarat elections and because of Modi ji’s fear over questions about Rafale and Jay Shah, he has shut down the Parliament. It won’t be open till Gujarat elections are complete.Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President
