1. Ramgarh Lynching Victim’s Kin Distrust Police
Local BJP leader and district spokesperson Nityanand Mahato is among the four people who have been arrested in connection of the lynching of meat trader Alimuddin Ansari in Jharkhand’s Ramnagar district on 29 June.
Inspector Kamlesh Paswan, from Ramgarh police station, said the BJP leader was arrested on 1 July.
Alimuddin, a meat trader by profession, was killed by a mob of at least ten, over suspicion of carrying beef in his Maruti van. When The Quint spoke to members of his grieving family, they appeared to be distrustful of the police.

3. 5th Attack on Gangrape Survivour, CM Adityanath Smells Conspiracy
A gangrape and acid attack survivor was attacked once again with acid in Aliganj locality here, police said on Sunday. This is the fifth attack on the woman.
The latest incident took place on Saturday night near a hostel where she resides. She was rushed to a hospital where her condition was stated to be stable.
She has sustained burn injuries on her face and neck, police said, adding that no FIR has been registered yet and they are awaiting a complaint. A probe is being conducted, police added.
When she was attacked on 23 March, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had offered Rs 1 lakh as assistance to the victim. However, he has suggested that the latest incident could be a staged attack in order to defame his government.

4. Sanjay Bangar on Reasons For Loss to WI
India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar said that the batsmen let the team down in the fourth ODI against West Indies at North Sound on Sunday. The men in blue failed to chase West Indies’ total of 189 runs and lost the match by 11 runs.
When asked about Dhoni’s innings of 54 runs from 114 balls, Bangar said that a batsman needs to assess the conditions and it’s difficult for someone to bat freely when wickets are falling at the other end.
Bangar also expressed that the fans should not be harsh on Ravindra Jadeja. The batting coach said that Jadeja bats lower down the order and therefore his performance gets magnified.
