The 2019 Lok Sabha elections are coming to a close, and with that one of the most hard-fought political battles in recent memory. How will India’s future look like after 23 May? Rahul Gandhi, President of the Indian National Congress, spoke to Raghav Bahl, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Quint and Sanjay Pugalia, Editorial Director of The Quint.

In the interview, Gandhi spoke about the Congress’ flagship NYAY scheme, his potential strategy to deal with a fractured mandate after results, who will be the prime minister in a Congress-led government and his party’s outlook on foreign policy.

Will Never Forgive Her For Godse Remark: Modi Slams Pragya Thakur

In an interview on Friday, 17 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed BJP’s Bhopal candidate Pragya Thakur for her remark hailing Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a “deshbhakt”, stating that he would never forgive her.

“She has apologised. That is a different thing. But in my heart, I cannot forgive her,” said the prime minister.

SC Gives Rajeev Kumar 7 Days to Seek Protection From CBI Arrest

The Supreme Court, on Friday, 17 May, vacated its order granting protection from arrest to former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar in the Saradha chit fund scam case.

The apex court said its 5 February order granting interim protection to Kumar will continue for seven days from today to enable him to approach the competent court for legal remedy.

‘Kirron Kher Did Nothing In 5 Yrs’: Chandigarh’s Youth Demand Jobs

With jobs on their mind, Chandigarh’s youth get candid about sitting MP Kirron Kher’s prospects of being re-elected as Chandigarh MP for a second consecutive term in in the upcoming 2019 elections.

Bringing up the sensitive political issue of demolishing villages (bastis) in Chandigarh, 28-year-old Gurpreet Singh says, “Kirron Kher did nothing. When she came here, there were slums being demolished, slum-dwellers protested. Kirron Kher told them, ‘You are my kids, I am the MP here, I will not let them demolish your homes.’ But she made false promises, the villages were demolished.”

Review: ‘De De Pyaar De’ Owes a Lot to Ajay Devgn & Tabu’s Chemistry

It’s routine for some of our 50-plus superstars to romance women half their age on screen. We had to accept this fact grudgingly. With time and some criticism, even if the male hero’s abdicated the “college lover boy” image, the machismo and star aura still ensured that while they kept getting older the women opposite them kept getting younger.
