After American TV show host Lara Spencer mocked Prince George's love for ballet on her show, some 300 dancers from across New York city turned Times Square into an open-air dance studio on 26 August.

On 22 August, Spencer read out Prince George’s busy schedule on her show ‘Good Morning America’ and said "Oh, he looks so happy about the ballet class". She further went on to add "Prince William said Prince George absolutely loves ballet... I have news for you, Prince William, we'll see how long that lasts."

Her remarks drew flak on Twitter, with some saying she was bullying the young royal.

George, the oldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate, is also the great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. He is third in line for the throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and father.

“I hope she offends a mechanic next so the boys know how to change the oil of a car” MEANING . If you do ballet. You don’t know how to do something that makes you masculine. Funny enough. A woman taught me how to change a tire. This country has a massive bullying problem. Broadcasted in our own backyard. To be angry is a choice. I just feel sorry for anyone that has to wake up everyday and wear those shoes that their feet fill. If he has a child, i hope they find courage and support to live out any dream they have, even though they might not have support under their own roof. #boysdancetoo #ballet #bully #foxnews #nosurprisehere #shocker #forgive #support #spreadlove #teachkindness #dontgetmadVOTE #vote #vote #vote

The ‘Good Morning America’ host has apologised for her on-air comments about 6-year-old Prince George taking ballet lessons.

On 23 August, in a post on Instagram she called her comments “insensitive” and said when it comes to ballet or any other passion Prince George should “GO FOR IT” and “love every minute of it.”
